Usage of various terms
[edit]- For consistency, in the context of Moldova, the Romanian term oraş (city) should be rendered in Wikipedia as city, whenever a list is made, or in text if a group of them is meant. When referring to an individual locality, it should be rendered as city, if the locality is among the first 20 in the list of cities in Moldova by population (from Chişinău to Ialoveni), i.e. if it has population 15,000 or above, and as city (town) or small city (town) from 21 afterwards (Făleşti and so on).
- For consistency, in the context of Moldova, the term raion (district) should be rendered in Wikipedia as district. See also: Administrative divisions of Moldova.
- For consistency, in the context of Moldova, the Romanian terms judeţ and ţinut should be rendered in Wikipedia as county. See also: Counties of Moldavia.
